Technical rules and paddle shift activation

- All models generally need wiring and coding to enable paddle shifts unless they fall under the direct-coding exceptions below.
- E Series models cannot activate paddle shift.
- BMW X3 models cannot enable paddle shift activation.
- BMW 7 Series (2009-2013) with 6AT cannot enable paddle shift. 8AT is required.
- BMW 328 models with factory cruise control and factory paddle shift do not require new wiring or coding.
- Only M5, 5 Series, X5, and X6 models can activate paddle shift directly via coding only.
- X5 and X3 models may include vibration or heating functions depending on the vehicle spec.
